Finally, someone has mentioned the 'elephant in the room', the origin of Al Qaeda in Saudi Arabia, regularly supported in early and later manifestations by portions of Saudi society. I am amazed that none of my regular substack writers have brought this up. Thank you, Arthur.
Thanks to Ukraine and Iran I'm hoping that there is soon a realisation that nuclear bombs don't win wars. And they don't prevent wars. If some stupid greedy power drunk old man in charge of whatever country uses a nuclear bomb were all finished- and as the world is run by such men its probably too late anyway, its only a matter of time.
The world is already burning and/or flooding, at this moment, not in the future- now. New epidemics are a constant threat, new diseases spreading, old ones remerging. Crops are failing or much reduced, water is becoming scarce and dirtier- even here in our developed country. The climate crisis is here.
And still the ignorant power drunk men are talking of nuclear bombs and 'more on defense'.
Could this “agreement” which I understand has already been amended by Trump without consultation to Saudi, be scrapped by a more thoughtful and reasonable US administration ? I appreciate how important the Saudi Petrodollar trade is to the US Economy/Bond markets but I have never understood how little responsibility the US attaches to Saudi for 9/11.

Great analysis and one wonders how well this will go down in Tel Aviv, the fiction of the Abraham Accords notwithstanding.
Thank you Stefan.
